Two Ingredient DIY Face Scrub

I have always had super sensitive skin, so when it comes to skincare I like to keep it simple and try to use all natural or homemade mixtures like the one I am sharing today. This scrub requires only 2 ingredients that you can find at any grocery store...coconut oil and baking soda!

I got both of these items at Aldi for less than $6 and they last a super long time if you are only using them for this scrub. Of course you can use them for many other things such as cooking, creating more DIY hair masks, face masks, etc. They are such affordable and versatile products!

To create this mask all you need to do is grab a bowl and mix together

  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil (I prefer to use organic)

  • 1/4 cup of baking soda

Add the mixture to a small jar or container

(I used a small 2.88in X 6in Pyrex storage container.)

The above photo is the amount of scrub I put on my finger each time I use it. Since the required amount is so little this scrub lasts a really long time, depending on how frequently you use it. I typically use mine nightly 2 or 3 times a week. I rub it into my face thoroughly for about 20 seconds then rinse it off with water.

I follow it with a homemade apple cider vinegar & water toner and a couple drops of Eucalyptus or lavender essential oil to help lighten the strong apple cider vinegar scent. There is no need for moisturizer afterwards because the coconut oil in the scrub gives your face a nice moisturized feel.

Please let me know if you choose to try out this scrub or if you'd like to see some of my other favorite DIY skincare tips.
